PRESS RELEASE: AZZO Partners with Montgomery County Green Bank to Advance Local Energy Projects

August, 20, 2026 - AZZO has been approved as a service provider under the Technical Assistance Program of the Montgomery County Green Bank, expanding access to specialized energy financing for commercial property owners across Montgomery County, Maryland.

Through the Green Bank’s Technical Assistance Program, eligible property owners can receive reduced rates for studies that help determine whether proposed energy improvements are technically and financially viable. As a prequalified provider, AZZO conducts feasibility studies and technical assessments for projects involving energy efficiency, renewable energy, battery storage, EV infrastructure, advanced microgrids, and power resilience.

These early studies can help property owners understand their options, evaluate potential costs and benefits, and identify a clear path toward financing and implementation.

“We’re excited to welcome AZZO as a new technical assistance provider and expand the expertise available through our Technical Assistance program. Through this partnership, we can connect property owners and communities with the technical resources they need to move projects from concept to implementation and create a stronger pipeline of clean energy and climate resilience projects across Montgomery County.”

Stephen Morel, CEO, Montgomery County Green Bank

AZZO brings its offers and services to multiple microgrid projects in Montgomery County, such as the Brookville and EMTOC bus depot microgrids. This work is supported by experience across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility and system design through implementation, integration, long-term operations, and ongoing performance support.

“As a service provider to the Montgomery County Green Bank, AZZO brings extra value to our customers as we advance our work in Maryland and deploy microgrids at a critical time in the market”

 — Jake Friedman, Executive General Manager – Microgrids, AZZO

AZZO also delivers projects and long-term services under its Energy-as-a-Service model, EnergyX ONE, which allows property owners to enjoy the benefits of microgrids, onsite generation and battery storage with no upfront capital required.

Through this partnership, AZZO will support the Green Bank’s broader strategic goals by helping property owners and communities identify practical energy and resilience opportunities, better understand available project and financing pathways, and develop technically sound projects that can move from planning toward implementation.

AZZO is listed in the Green Bank’s directory as an approved provider for technical assistance, battery storage, and EV infrastructure.
