Our Story
AZZO’s journey began in 2005 in Adelaide, Australia with a focus on industrial power automation. Soon after starting the business, founder John Azzollini notices that customers were asking for energy monitoring & control solutions as part of an overall industrial automation strategy. Seeing a market need, John decided to focus AZZO on the energy management domain.
Now into our third decade, AZZO has expanded its capabilities, geography and offer portfolio to become a global leader in energy technology and services. Today, the EnergyX® platform and the multidisciplinary strengths of our team enable us to deliver solutions across the entire lifecycle for C&I, utility-scale and Energy-as-a-Service markets.
Key Milestones
2005 – Company founded in Adelaide, specializing in industrial automation
2007 – Expansion into energy management and electrical engineering, with new leadership and a deepening focus on renewables and efficiency
2008 – Launch of portable metering and early power quality audit services
2013 – Started building award-winning energy management software modules
2015 – Growth into contract software development and early version of EnergyX
2017 – Achievement of three ISO certifications (9001, 14001, 45001) and expansion into Melbourne
2019 – Business & operations office established in USA
